And, as far as I know, everyone in my inner circle is okay.
I have driven over that bridge hundreds of times over the years--it spanned the Mississippi right between the University of Minnesota and the Metrodome--and all evening I have watched the news coverage, unable to believe what I'm seeing.
My prayers go out to everyone who was involved, including the rescue workers, and all of their families.

I'm glad all is well with you. I've gone over that bridge hundreds of times too--so scary. And how terrifying for the people who were there.
I checked into your blog first thing this morning to check that you and your family were okay. What a tragedy and a horror for all Minnesotans. I, too, have crossed that bridge a number of times on our drives to Minneapolis to visit our son (who's now in NY).
It was with great relief that I saw you were all well.
